2 arrested, 1 wanted for questioning after a man was abducted and tortured in Miami

MIAMI – A man and woman were arrested last week for allegedly kidnapping and torturing a man in Miami for three days, but authorities are still looking for someone they believe may have information about the crime .

Miami Police said the ordeal began on December 28 after one of the suspects, Marie Jocelyne Dorsainvil, 52, contacted the victim and asked him to take her to her home.

Police said the victim agreed and Dorsainvil convinced him to go to her apartment when they arrived.

According to the authorities, the victim was confronted by Occius Dorsainvil, 56, while he was in the apartment and the suspects handcuffed and detained him against his will for three days, tortured him, demanded $ 50,000 in cash and threatened him multiple times to shoot him.

Police said the victim told the duo that he couldn’t give them $ 50,000, but he eventually agreed to transfer his vehicle title to them on Dec. 30 if they released him.

According to his arrest report, Occius Dorsainvil ordered the victim to drink a mixture of bleach and Haitian rum as they drove to the spot where his vehicle was parked.

Police said the victim opened her eyes about 20 minutes later and Occius Dorsainvil was nowhere to be found.

Police said the victim ran to ask for help and police and Miami Fire Rescue units were responding to the area.

The victim was taken to the University of Miami Hospital, where she is still under treatment.

Both suspects were arrested Thursday while armed on charges of kidnapping, armed robbery, attempted murder and threats of blackmail.

Police on Tuesday released a leaflet from a man wanted for the crime, although they did not say why they believe he has information that could help him.

Anyone with identity or additional information on the suspects is encouraged to call the Miami Police Department at 305-603-6370 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
