2 men shot in cargo area near Miami International Airport; shooter arrested

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Florida. – A days-long workplace dispute led to a shooting Thursday night that injured two men in a cargo area west of Miami International Airport, police said.

Miami-Dade Detective Argemis “AC” Colome reported that the shooting took place at 2360 NW 66th Ave. According to Greg Chin, a spokesman for MIA, the crime scene was on a Miami-Dade County Aviation Department property occupied by Cargo Force, a trucking company escort.

Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, a spokesman for MDPD, said the dispute – which began a few days ago – involved four people working at Cargo Force. An argument escalated into a fight and a shootout. One man was injured in the abdomen and the other in a lower limb, Zabaleta said.

Airport district officials arrested a 31-year-old gunman and another person for questioning. Relatives who also work at Cargo Force took the 18-year-old man and the injured man, 23, to the hospital before police officers arrived, Zabaleta said
