Apple opens its latest Aventura retailer in Miami
While the tech giant has confirmed the date for its next iPhone event, Apple has just opened its new “Aventura” store in the Aventura Mall in north Miami. Former chief designer Jony Ive and design firm Foster + Partners worked together to bring this shop to life.
Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the space with natural light, along with indoor trees for a balance between nature and artificial technological devices. In the center of the store is an amphitheater with stadium seats and a large screen for conversations and events. The store is complemented by an outdoor Genius Grove courtyard that is inspired by the Miami lifestyle. The overall design is emphasized by a corrugated concrete roof with steel and concrete pillars.
“The language and materiality of the Apple Aventura Mall are inspired by Miami’s white Art Deco traditions and the white climate and make them an expression of their place and their culture,” said Stefan Behling, head of the Foster + Partner studio, explaining the story behind the design.
