“Easter Bunny” phases an underwater egg hunt off the Florida Keys – NBC 6 South Florida
Dozens of underwater egg-eaters dived a shallow reef off Islamorada at the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Thursday during an underwater egg hunt, which serves as a fundraiser to serve Keys year-round children in need.
The underwater hide and seek game is offered to participating divers during the Easter break and is a favorite of Captain Spencer Slate, the operator of Captain Slates Scuba Adventures.
“Cottontail” Slate donned a giant rabbit suit and scuba gear to hide brightly colored eggs that hiding vacation hunters could find.
Real eggs and non-toxic dyes were used to avoid any negative environmental impact on the Keys Coral Barrier Reef, the only one of its kind in the continental US
