Girls golf sets a new school record
The Lady Spartans golfers defeated Columbia City 146-177 in Chestnut Hills on Tuesday, August 27, setting a new school record. Morgan Dabagia led the team at 34, followed by Madi Dabagia and Simone Senk at 37 each.Megan Yoder finished on a 38 and Olivia Render finished the night on a 40.
Boys’ football beats Leo with 6: 2
The Spartans scored a 6-2 win over Leo on Monday, August 26th. Blake Byus scored 3 goals. Rocco Zirille scored 2 and Colin Crandal had 1 goal. Sam Cohen added 3 templates.
Girls’ soccer defeats Luers, Eastbrook
The Lady Spartans football team beat Bishop Luers 7-0 on Thursday, August 29th. Lauren Moellering, Amelia White, Sofia Centrone, Taylor Archbold, Emma Duby, Madison Barnhardt and Sydney Couch each scored one goal.
The team scored a 7-1 win over Eastbrook on Wednesday, August 28th. White and Emily Barsantee each scored two goals, while Archbold, Madison Morris and Sara Poiry each scored one goal.
Volleyball beats Wayne, falls to Warsaw
A solid performance resulted in the Spartans beating Wayne 3-0 on Thursday, August 29th. Ellie Grostefon, Haidyn Carrico, Kaitlyn Peters and Sierra Suozzi each played 5 aces. Hannah Gaither received 15 assists and Olivia Krahn and Lexi Durnell recorded 6 kills each.
Kaitlyn Peters led with 17 digs and Emily Wilcox earned 2 blocks.
The Lady Spartans fought but failed to beat the Warsaw Tigers on Monday 26 August and lost 3-2. Peters ended the night with 39 digs. Durnell earned 12 kills and Gaither 19 assists.
Wilcox and Durnell each earned 4 blocks, while Grostefon earned 3 aces.
