Metropolis of Homestead proclaims that extra parks have reopened

 

More City of Homestead Parks reopened on Monday October 5th as the city and all of Miami-Dade County continue to move toward a “new normal” following the COVID-19 pandemic.

City officials also remind residents that the use of face coverings in public areas is still required.

The following parks are only open for passive use from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (or at sunset) e.g. B. for hiking, jogging, cycling or inline skating. Sports lighting can be operated until 10 p.m.

The use of face coverings is required at all times, and pick-up games and unorganized sports may only be conducted with face coverings. Outdoor picnics of fewer than 10 people are permitted with a minimum of 10 feet between groups.

Homestead Parks & Recreation staff are on hand to enforce social distancing protocols in the park and prevent unauthorized use.

Blakey Park, 600 SW 14 Ave., Homestead, FL 33030
• The track is open for one-way use only.
• The toilets are open on weekdays from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm / sunset and on weekends from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm / sunset.
• The playground and fitness equipment will remain closed.
Audubon Park, S. Audubon Drive, Homestead, FL 33035
• The trail is open for walking, jogging or cycling.
• The tennis court is open for single and double games, with one hour’s notice for users.
• The playground remains closed.
Mayor Roscoe Warren City Park, 1400 E. Palm Dr., Homestead, FL 33035
• The walkway is open for one-way use only.
• Dog parks are open for a maximum of 10 people.
• The toilet near the dog park is open on weekdays from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm / sunset and on weekends from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm / sunset.
• The rest of the toilets and the playground are locked.
• The fitness equipment remains closed.
• Parking is limited.
James Archer Smith Park, 300 NW 12 St., Homestead, FL 33030
• The walkway is open for one-way use only.
• Dog parks are open for a maximum of 10 people.
• The toilets are open on weekdays from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm / sunset and on weekends from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm / sunset.
• The playground remains closed.
• The fitness equipment remains closed.
Wittkop Park, 505 NW 9th St., Homestead, FL 33030
• The walkway is open for one-way use only.
• The racquetball court is open for single and double games, with one hour’s notice for users.
• The toilets are open on weekdays from 7am to 12pm and from 4pm to 8pm / sunset and on weekends from 7am to 8pm / sunset.
• The playground remains closed.
Losner Park, 104 N. Krome Ave., Homestead, FL 33030
• The walkway is open for one-way use only.
Homestead Sports Complex, 1061 SE 28 Ave., Homestead, FL 33035
• The green “parking lot” fields are open for hiking, jogging, inline skating and cycling.
• The toilets are open during organized sport.
Roby George Park and Pool, 201 SW 11 Ave., Homestead, FL 33030
• The pool is 50 percent open.
• The opening times of the pool are from 4pm to 7pm on weekdays and from 10am to 6pm on weekends.
• The playground remains closed.
Angelo Mistretta Park, 133 NE Ninth Ct., Homestead, FL 33030
• The playground remains closed.
JD Redd Park, 550 N. Homestead Boulevard, Homestead, FL 33030
• The tennis court is open for single and double games, with one hour’s notice for users.
William F. Bill Dickinson Community Center 1601 N. Krome Ave., Homestead, FL 33030
• The facility is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for fitness and member activities only
• Facial covering is required by members at all times.
• The capacity is limited. Therefore, users must check-in at the front desk to be placed on the waiting list.
• Use of the fitness room is limited to one hour a day.
