The Miami-Dade rabbi surrendered to police and was arrested for baby molestation

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A South Florida rabbi has been arrested on worrying charges.

Yosef Benita, 37, a teacher at the Lubavitch Educational Center, is charged with child molestation.

He surrendered to Miami Gardens police on Wednesday.

Benita is accused of inappropriately touching a 10-year-old student during a tutoring session.

He is being held untied at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

“We received an allegation of inappropriate behavior from an employee and reported immediately to the Children and Family Department. The person has been suspended pending the investigation,” said a statement from the Lubavitch Educational Center. “We are working with the authorities and are confident in the process.

“There is absolutely nothing more important than the physical and emotional security and well-being of our students. We take any allegation of inappropriate behavior very seriously, which is why we immediately reported to the relevant authorities. “
