Visitor Leaves $ 10,000 Tip at Florida Keys Restaurant – WSVN 7News | Miami Information, Climate, Sports activities

MARATHON, FLA. (WSVN) – A server in the Florida Keys was massively surprised after a customer left a generous surprise.

The Castaway Waterfront Restaurant & Sushi Bar in Marathon posted a photo with a receipt left by a customer who left a tip of $ 10,000 on an order for $ 193.

“Well deserved Khara and Team Castaway,” wrote the restaurant.

Khara Wilson, a waiter at the restaurant, told Keys Weekly that the tip was from a woman named Pam.

She said Pam had a group of 10 and they were waiting for more guests to arrive. Wilson said she recorded a conversation with Pam and learned that she was visiting from Oklahoma and that the woman was planning to fly out on a private plane.

Wilson said she kept working and later Pam came up to her and asked her how many employees they had.

“I asked her why she wanted to know and she told me it would be a surprise but that I had to share it with everyone on the staff,” Wilson told the newspaper.

That surprise turned out to be the $ 10,000 the 14 employees want to split.

Wilson said she’ll use her part to pay bills and she’ll set a little aside for a planned trip to Costa Rica.
