Why hire a pool builder?

It’s a good question. There are actually many reasons to hire a pool builder! Many people have misconceptions on what they can do themselves, others just don’t know how it works. We all want great prices, but let me tell you there is no price in safety. If you get hurt, it could cost you thousands of dollars if not more putting together a pool! It doesn’t sound like much of an issue until you are laying face down on the concrete unable to move with two broken legs or worse because you thought that was what “do it yourself” meant. So hopefully by the end of this article you will have a good understanding of the process and see that it is worth your time to hire a professional!

There are many different types of pools and each pool builder might specialize in a certain type. If you already know what kind of pool you want, then finding the right builder will be much easier. If not, don’t worry, they can help you choose the right one for your needs. One important thing to keep in mind when choosing a builder is their experience. Pool builders who have been in the business for many years will have more experience with repairs, renovations, and even new builds. This doesn’t mean that a newer company can’t do a great job, but it is something to consider. When choosing a pool builder, feel free to ask questions! Any good builder will be more than happy to answer your questions. Here are some tips on what to look for in a pool company:

  • – Experience
  • – Reputation
  • – References
  • – BBB rating (see below for link)

– Return policy on custom items (Pool Covers/Liner/etc.)  (note: these are just guidelines and if you find another quality that is important to you, then go with it!) Now let’s look at the different parts of building a pool. We’ll start with the most difficult part… digging the hole! Digging The Hole I’m sure all of us have seen an episode of “Swimming Pool Kings” on TV where they just dig the hole and drop the pool in. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. The ground has to be level and the hole needs to be the correct size. If it’s not done correctly, your pool could end up lopsided or too shallow.

This is why it is best to leave it to the professionals!

They have the experience and tools needed to do it correctly. Pouring The Concrete Foundation The concrete foundation is what will hold your pool in place. It needs to be poured correctly and cured for a minimum of 28 days before the pool can be installed. Again, this is something that should be left to the professionals.

Installing The Pool liner Installing the liner is another job that should be left to the professionals. If it’s not done correctly, the liner could tear and you will have to replace it. Not only is it difficult to do, but it can also be dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing.

Installing The Pool Cover:

A pool cover is a great way to keep your pool clean and protect it from the elements. It’s a job that can easily be done by the homeowner, but it’s still a job that should be taken seriously. Improper installation could lead to water damage to your home or even injury. Again, this is another job that is best left to the professionals
