Woman killed, 2 men critically injured in northwest Miami-Dade crash

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning in northwest Miami-Dade.

The crash was reported at 12:38 pm in the area of ​​Northwest 113th Street and 27th Avenue.

A Local 10 News crew was at the scene as a dark-colored sedan with heavy front-end damage was still at the scene. Across the street, there was an overturned gray vehicle next to a smaller black car that appeared to have crashed into a nearby restaurant.

Police said a woman was pronounced dead at the scene and two men were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

All three vehicles were later towed from the scene.

Surveillance video from a nearby gas station shows the moment of impact as car parts went flying into the camera’s view. Several minutes later, you see police and fire rescue arriving.

Next door to the gas station, a gaping hole was left in the Root Beer Breakfast Bar, where one of the cars appears to have slammed into the wall, going through the structure.


Traffic homicide detectives blocked traffic in both directions on 27th Avenue near Miami Dade College’s North Campus to investigate the three-vehicle crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
